The kids are back in school and fall is upon us. And if you’re like us at The Sprout Cafe, you’re still getting used to the transition from a low-key summer to a busy fall, complete with work, school, after school activities, family life, all the while trying to eat right and exercise.

The Sprout Cafe can help you find balance by offering healthy foods, juices and smoothies for the entire family, catering services and detoxes to help boost your energy and your immune system.

Healthy foods, smoothies and juices for the whole fam
Wouldn’t you love it if someone would cook for you? Easy. Done. Just swing by The Sprout Café to pick up any of our organic meals and juices. Dine-in or call in your order and carry a meal home for the whole family. Choose from burritos, tacos, sprouted bread sandwiches, salads, soups and side items – all organic and made in-house. We even have kids’ meals.

The Sprout Café also caters. We can provide daily meals or cater for special occasions. The Sprout specializes in creating vibrant, organic, healthy options for parties, meetings or gatherings. The Sprout can also craft a single tray or do a full catering including fresh juices.

Reboot your body
The Sprout Café’s Juice Fasts and Detox programs are a great way to reboot your body, and the change in seasons is the perfect time to do so.

“If you take the time to clean your body out as the season is changing, you are more equipped to handle the new histamines and allergens in the air,” says Caroline Brennan, who owns The Sprout Café with her husband Mickey Brennan. “In doing so, your body will be at its prime when exposure to germs. In addition, giving your body a break from the regular digestive process allows your body to redirect its energy to healing and give your systems the opportunity to do their absolute best. Your body will have more energy to work on an influx of new germs in school, at work … in the air.”

Eat better, feel better
The Sprout Café serves meals, smoothies and juices made from fresh organic ingredients delivered direct from a local farm. You can TASTE the difference and you will FEEL the difference.

“I think for everyone, for the most part, you don’t really understand how you don’t feel good until you eat food that’s good for you, or take it a step further and detox or do a juice fast,” Caroline said. “And then you get a little taste of what it feels like to be a bit healthier. You either feel a shift in your sleep pattern or you notice your energy doesn’t dip in the afternoon. Or maybe your skin or your sinus infection clears up. Or maybe you fight off a cold faster than before. When you eat better, you just feel better.”

An example of a weekly CSA share

The Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model allows for consumers to purchase shares in the farm for a season in return for a specific amount of produce/product each week. Some farms have pick-up locations while others will deliver and most farms offer different size shares.  It is the best way to get the freshest, seasonal, local and organic veggies each week.  These veggies will provide you the highest nutritional content, as well as supporting your local economy and helping your wallet, as most are an excellent deal for the amount and quality of fruits and vegetables received.

Here is a list of CSA’s available around the Charleston area:

Organic apples at The Sprout Cafe

Sweet, healthy organic apples

Crisp fall weather has us thinking about crisp organic apples and all of the health benefits this popular fruit has to offer. The Sprout Café includes organic apples in many of our juices and smoothies, offering a subtle sweetness that mixes well with a wide range of vegetables and fruits.

Our signature juice is the Green Lantern, which includes fresh apple juice, fresh celery juice and a shot of wheatgrass. Check out our entire menu of juices and smoothies here.

Organic is best

Organic is an important distinction when it comes to apples because, according to the USDA, more pesticides are found on apples than any other fruit or vegetable (47).

This is one of the many reasons why we use all organic ingredients at The Sprout Cafe. If we serve it, it’s organic.
