Sometimes you just need a chip. Right? The Sprout Café’s Kale Chips can satisfy your craving for a delicious crunchy snack, while actually being good for you!
The Sprout Café’s Kale Chips begin with organic kale sourced locally from Joseph Fields Farm. This is important because we like to support local businesses, organic farmers and because when you eat locally sourced produce, you can reduce seasonal allergy symptoms.
We then add our specially formulated seasonings to the kale and then dehydrate it, which removes the water and makes it crunchy, all the while preserving the enzymes and, vitamins and minerals.
“It’s really good, and it’s a raw food, which is good for you,” said Mickey Brennan, The Sprout Café co-owner and chef. “Because it’s dehydrated, it still has all of the good vitamins, minerals and chlorophyll in it. You’re getting it all!”
Mickey’s wife Caroline, co-owner of The Sprout Café and inspiration for the Kale Chip, loves the flavoring, which is a mix of garlic, lemon, cashews, kale, cayenne and other seasonings.
“They are so good,” she said. “They go down like junk food, but it’s totally not a junk food. Our Kale Chips are packed with nutrients so not only do they taste amazing, you also feel a lot better than if you had eaten regular chips.”
Adults and kids alike are loving the Kale Chips, too. “We sell out practically every day,” Caroline said.
Kale Chips are for sale at The Sprout Café and run $5 for about a half pound.
